Christmas Morning

Wrapping paper shredded with glee
swirls around for all to see
and without care children giggle
laughing as they squirm and wiggle.
Christmas morning a time for family
as children scream Santa’s been
joyful noises fill the air
children and adults without care.
The smell of Christmas feasts to come
as Christmas songs the adults hum
no time for worldly care or woe
on Christmas morning love we know.
The magic of Christmas can live
in the happiness we all give
so for the rest of the year lets pretend
Christmas morning will never end.
